Changes in Sea Surface Temperature and Sea Ice Concentration in the Arctic Ocean over the Past Two Decades

چکیده

With global warming, the decrease in sea ice creates favorable conditions for Arctic activities. Sea surface temperature (SST) is not only an important driven factor of concentration (SIC) changes but also medium ocean–atmosphere interaction. However, response to varies different areas. Using optimal interpolated SST data from National Centers Environmental Information (NCEI) and SIC University Bremen, temporal spatial characteristics above 60°N their relationship are studied, melting freezing time calculated, which particularly prediction shipping ice. The results show that (1) highest lowest monthly mean occur August March, respectively, while those March September. maximum trends autumn, +0.01 °C/year −0.45%/year, respectively. (2) There a significant negative correlation between with coefficient −0.82. (3) break-up occurs on Day Year (DoY) 143 freeze-up DoY 296 Arctic. processes lasted 27 days 14 days, (4) Kara showed strongest trend at −1.22 d/year, followed by Laptev −1.17 d/year. delay was most +1.75 +1.70 In Arctic, toward earlier smaller than later freezing.

Trend of the Caspian Sea surface temperature changes

The interaction between sea and atmosphere has profound effects on the regions climate. Meanwhile, the sea surface temperature is considered as one of the most effective components of water bodies, and the controller of many atmospheric behaviors. Because of the importance of sea surface temperatures effects on atmospheric elements and also given the role of global warming on land and sea surfa...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Geographic muting of changes in the Arctic sea ice cover

[1] The seasonal cycle in Arctic sea ice extent is asymmetric. Its amplitude has grown in recent decades as the ice has retreated more rapidly in summer than in winter. These seasonal disparities have typically been attributed to different physical factors operating during different seasons. Here we show instead that the seasonal asymmetries in Arctic sea ice extent are a geometric consequence ...
